To overcome hurdles associated with our own pursuits relating to precision formation-flight, we have had to build and qualify our own electric propulsion system from scratch. This has also allowed us to compress the price-point associated with our ORB family of satellite platforms to compelling levels. And has enabled us to build the Guardian family of satellites in a more cost-effective way.
The Nova product-line is the baseline propulsion system used in the ORB-class satellite platforms. It is specifically built to capitalise on usage of the often-neglected “tuna-can” volume made available for nanosatellites, minimising impact on volume consumed within the platform. The Kilonova and Supernova product-lines, built for compatibility with CubeSat platforms, are upgradable variants of propulsion for larger ORB-class and Guardian-class satellite platforms.
Typical Functions:
Accelerated deployment of constellations
Accelerated RAAN drifting
Formation maintenance
Orbit raising
Station-keeping/Life-extension
Collision avoidance
Active deorbiting at end of mission
System Features:
Compact, efficient Carbon Nanotube (CNT) neutralizers
No pressurized tanks or moving parts
Low melting point, liquid metal propellant
Integrated electronics
Redundant design features
These flight-qualified product-lines will be available for shipping from May-21 onwards.
